We booked our wedding date today! I'm so excited. Now... what to do to keep me busy for the next 12.5 months? I'm sure collecting old vases and mason jars will take up some time. :) But, I think we're in great shape- we have a ceremony & reception venue and a caterer! I'm planning to finalize the contract with our photographer next week.
ALSO! We are moving this weekend. this.weekend. In 3 days {help!}.
Thank goodness for our wonderful family & friends. Love you guys <3
Picture to follow soon. I promise!

oh, happy day
So, it's quite the typical American dream... it's a single story, there's no picket fence, and it's smack dab in the middle of nowhere. But, it's everything I have ever wanted and so much more than I could have asked for.
It's been a tough week on my end, so I'm going to take some time today and focus on how truly blessed we are. Please don't take this post as boasting or bragging. We are eternally grateful for everything and it's all to easy to forget the big picture. Especially for me lately.
This house is becoming my happy place, my save haven, and I find myself craving it. There is something about those woods. It's so beautiful and calming. I need to get away from it all- the rush of life, the barking dogs... We don't necessarily live in a city, but I would call our rental apartment "downtown". The closer we get to occupancy, the more I'm wanting to get out of here, and out there.
I never had the opportunity to meet Grandma & Grandpa R, but I like to think I know a little bit about their hearts. They raised two wonderful people (if you're reading this Aunt M., know we love you & miss you!), and what joy they have given me.
I will be forever grateful for their gift. We could never have done this without them. I promise to always care for and respect this land, our new home, and do my very best to make it a place full of love and happiness, and hopefully many more trillium & daffodils.

mini update
Welcome, May. Another month gone! We'll finally get to see what our April snow showers will bring. Spring is slow-moving for us this year, but warmer temps are headed our way. The crew hasn't been at our site much, since it's been sooo cold. But, here's a mini update.
Counters are installed, although the island isn't finalized yet. We are really excited about this huge sink. I've always preferred a single basin, and this one is enormous. Our appliances were delivered last week. The only thing hooked up so far is the fridge. We need our plumber to come and finish up the waste for the dishwasher and convert the range to propane. It's basically torture waiting for these to be finished up! I really want to get moved into the new house this month. Fingers {toes & eyes} are crossed!
We're hoping for more work to continue this month... I'll keep you updated! :)
Product List (so far):
sink: karran E-240
faucet: delta ashton touch2O
counters: crema mascarello
cabinets: holiday petersburg 3" in natural hickory
appliances: LG
